International Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week is an annual event held to raise awareness of congenital cardiac disease, which is a form of heart abnormality that occurs at birth. The week is usually celebrated during the second week of February (7-14).
CHD is the most prevalent birth abnormality in the world, affecting 1.35 million newborns each year.
This week’s goal is to educate the public on the signs and symptoms of congenital heart disease, encourage early detection, and push for improved treatment choices and care for people impacted by this illness .
