World Organ Donation Day is celebrated every year on August 13 to raise awareness about the organ donation and motivate people to donate organs after death. This day provides an opportunity to all to come ahead and pledge to donate their precious organs because one organ donor can save up to eight lives. Organ donation is retrieving a donor’s organ like heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs, and pancreas after the donor is deceased and then transplanting into another person who is in need of an organ. There is no defined age for organ donation but it is based on strict medical criteria. In the case of natural death tissues of cornea, heart valves, bone and skin can be donated whereas other vital organs like heart, liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, and pancreas can only be donated in the case of brain death. After organ failure, vital organs like heart, liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs and pancreas can be transplanted into the patient to help the recipient lead a normal life.

Lung cancer is responsible for nearly 25 percent of cancer death and is one of the most common cancer worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), lung cancer accounts for nearly one in five cancer deaths. While lung cancer and breast cancer are reportedly diagnosed at the same rate (11.6 percent), lung cancer takes more lives yearly than breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined. Lung cancer mortality is estimated to reach 2.45 million by 2030, a 39 percent increase as compared to the last decade Most common symptoms of Lung Cancer: Lung cancer causes pain in the chest and ribs. The most common symptom includes coughing which can be chronic, dry, with phlegm or blood. It can cause fatigue and loss of appetite It can the risk of respiratory infections, wheezing, and shortness of breath. common symptoms include weight loss, hoarseness, swollen lymph node, and weakness.
