What is the Anti-ssDNA Antibody test?
Anti‐ssDNA assay is an autoimmune diagnostic test that detects autoantibodies against single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). Antibodies to single-stranded DNA are seen in a wide variety of autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), drug-induced lupus, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and other autoimmune diseases.

It is recommended:When symptoms of anti-ssDNA antibodies may be elevated in a relatively high proportion of patients with any of several diseases; leukemia, preeclampsia, chronic hepatitis, renal complications of diabetes, and some inflammatory neurological diseases.

The Anti-ssDNA Antibody test: Is performed on a sample of blood to measure the level of Single-Stranded DNA Antibodies in the blood. It is performed to confirm autoimmune conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and SLE and also during the treatment and after treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis and SLE.
